An unknown artist created this image in a series of paintings currently held in the Basilica of St. Mary of the Assumption in Marietta, Ohio. When the disciples tried to prevent the little children from getting near Jesus, Our Lord gently rebuked them. He told His disciples if they wanted to come close to God, they must humble themselves and approach Him with a childlike trust and obedience in His mercy and love. The artist reminds us that we must do the same.
