These alabaster bookends feature Jesus giving Himself to the disciples in the breaking of the bread. Holding heavy books in line, they both organize and decorate your home. This pair of bookends makes the perfect personal First Communion gift, or an excellent present for anyone with a special Eucharistic devotion.

The artwork, The Breaking of the Bread, depicts the scene in which the two disciples on the road to Emmaus finally recognize Jesus in the Eucharist. The simple Communion prayer can be memorized by a child but prayed for a lifetime.

The bookends are made from stone-cast alabaster here in our shop in Steubenville, Ohio. Alabaster is a building and decorating material created from the mineral gypsum that has been used since the time of the ancient Egyptian Pharaohs. It boasts an attractive smooth finish.

Each measures roughly 6" x 8", including the 4"x 6" inset image plaque, and is 3" deep.

 Text reads:

"Jesus, thank you for coming to me in Holy Communion. I love you very much, please help me to Love you even more."
