Our alabaster St. Teresa of Calcutta Quote Bookend depicts Christ's servant and spouse, who gave her life to love Jesus in the poorest of the poor. Keeping heavy books in line, they both organize and decorate your home. This pair of bookends makes the perfect personal gift to a friend, relative, or religious who has a devotion to Mother Teresa.

Saint Mother Teresa of Calcutta entered a contemplative religious order as a young woman in 1928. After being fully professed, she received a "call within a call" to serve those on the streets of India, still remaining consecrated to God. As many young women followed her to serve the poor, the group eventually was approved by the Vatican to become the Missionaries of Charity. Mother Teresa traveled the world, spreading her mission of love. Despite receiving great honors from the world, her joy and mission still flowed from her Bridegroom, Jesus Christ.

The bookends are made from stone-cast alabaster here in our shop in Steubenville, Ohio. Alabaster is a building and decorating material created from the mineral gypsum that has been used since the time of the ancient Egyptian Pharaohs. It boasts an attractive smooth finish and will last for years to come.

Each measures roughly 6" x 8", including the 4"x 6" inset image plaque, and is 3" deep.

Text reads:

"Spread love everywhere you go;

first of all in your house.

Give love to your children,

to your wife or husband,

to a next door neighbor.

Let no one ever come to you

without leaving better and happier.

Be the living expression of

God's kindness;

kindness in your face,

kindness in your eyes,

kindness in your smile."
