Grow in your faith at home and share it with your guests using our Holy Family Catholic Home Doorpost Blessing! These spiritual aids are available in ivory or bronze stonecast alabaster and feature a sacred image printed on wood. These hangers are meant to be placed near the entrance of your home as a reminder of your Christian duty to love God above all things. They are beautiful home decor items and would make a fine housewarming gift.

Catholic Home Doorpost Blessing originate from the Jewish Mezuzah (see below). Although this Judeo-Christian tradition evolved into the hanging of crucifixes and holy water fonts near one's door, the Mezuzah tradition has been rediscovered as the faithful seek more ways of calling God and His commands to mind as they exit their home to work in the world or enter it to entertain guests and tend to family. May these threshold hangers serve as a daily reminder of God's command to love - especially to love Him above all things!

Our Catholic Home Doorpost Blessing have a peaked-roof design etched with a summary of the greatest commandment (see Matthew 22:38): "Love God with all your heart. Love your neighbor as yourself." Underneath, this specific threshold hanger features an image of the Holy Family - Jesus, Mary, and Joseph - in a tender embrace reflecting the unity of the Trinity.

Handcrafted at our shop in Steubenville, OH.  Each hanger measures approximately 3.25" x 6".

The prayer sticker on the back reads:

"BLESS the Four Corners of this house, and be the Lintel Blest;

And bless the hearth, and bless the board, and bless each place of Rest;

And bless the Door that opens wide to Strangers as to Kin;

And bless each crystal Windowpane that lets the Starlight in;

And bless the Rooftree overhead and every sturdy Wall;

The Peace of Man, the Peace of God, the Peace of Love on All!"
