Infant of Prague Bookends
These alabaster bookends honor Jesus, the Infant of Prague. Keeping heavy books in line, these bookends both organize and decorate your home. They make the perfect personal gift for anyone of Czech ancestry and all those devoted to Our Lord.
The original statue is in the Church of Our Lady Victorious in the city of Prague in the Czech Republic.
The bookends are made from stone-cast alabaster here in our shop in Steubenville, Ohio. Alabaster is a building and decorating material created from the mineral gypsum that has been used since the time of the ancient Egyptian Pharaohs. It boasts an attractive smooth finish.
Each measures roughly 6" x 8", including the 4"x 6" inset image plaque, and is 3" deep at the base.
"O miraculous Infant Jesus, we beseech you to cast a merciful look on our troubled hearts. Let your tender heart, so inclined to pity, be softened by our prayers, and grant us that grace for which we ardently implore you. For your Sacred Infancy's sake, hear our prayers and send us consolation and aid, that we may praise you with the Father and the Holy Spirit forever and ever. Amen."
