These alabaster bookends feature a painting of the Apostle Jude, and a prayer. Able to keep heavy books in line, they both organize and decorate your home. This pair of bookends makes the perfect personal gift for anyone with a devotion to this holy martyr and patron of hop in desperate or impossible causes.

The original image is a fresco in the cathedral of Florence, Italy.

The bookends are made from stone-cast alabaster here in our shop in Steubenville, Ohio. Alabaster is a building and decorating material created from the mineral gypsum that has been used since the time of the ancient Egyptian Pharaohs. It boasts an attractive smooth finish. 

Each measures roughly 6" x 8", including the 4"x 6" inset image plaque, and is 3" deep.

 

Text reads:

"O Holy St. Jude, Apostle and Martyr, faithful intercessor for all who invoke you, special patron in times of need; to you I have recourse from the depth of my heart, and humbly beg you, to whom God has given such great power, to come to my assistance; help me now in my urgent need and grant my earnest petition. Amen."
