Our St. Junipero Serra desk shrine is the perfect meditative and devotional gift. Its beautiful imagery and elegant white marble or gilded gold leaf finish is perfect for decorating offices and homes and will last for years to come.

Saint Junipero Serra was canonized by Pope Francis on September 23rd, 2015 during a historic mass at the Basilica of the National Shrine of the Immaculate Conception in Washington DC. Junipero Serra was a Spanish-born Franciscan Friar known for starting nine Spanish missions in California in the 1700's. He spread the Gospel, taught new farming methods to the Native Americans in the region, and is the first Saint to be canonized on United States soil.

The shrine itself is produced with stone-cast alabaster which originates from the mineral gypsum, a highly regarded building and decorating medium that has been used since the time of ancient Egypt and boasts an attractive smooth finish.

It measures roughly 5 1/2in x 8in, including the 4in x 6in inset image plaque. The back of the shrine features a secured easel for standing and a simple metal hook for hanging.
