One of the most beloved depictions of the Divine Mercy, this image of the original Vilnius rendition by Eugene Kazimirowski draws us in and bids us meditate upon the overwhelming mercy and love of Our Lord. Christ, looking in front of the viewer, is raising a hand in blessing and with the other hand is pointing to His Heart, out of which flows rays of Blood and Water. Christ gave St. Faustina this image in Poland in 1931. In a conversation with our Lord, He explained the image to her and asked to have it painted so that all could adore Him and receive His Mercy:

Paint an image according to the pattern you see, with the signature: Jesus I trust in You. I desire that this image be venerated, first in your chapel, and throughout the world. (Diary of St. Faustina 47)

I promise that the soul that will venerate this image will not perish. I also promise victory over its enemies already here on earth, especially at the hour of death. I myself will defend it as My own glory. (Diary 48)

I am offering people a vessel with which they are to keep coming for graces to the fountain of mercy. That vessel is this image with the signature" :Jesus, I trust in You." (Diary 327)

The two rays denote Blood and Water. the pale ray stands for the Water which makes souls righteous. The red ray stands for the Blood which is the life of souls. These two rays issued forth from the very depths of My tender mercy when My agonized heart was opened by a lance on the Cross. These rays shield souls from the wrath of My Father. Happy is the one who dwell in their shelter, for the just hand of God shall not lay hold of him. (Diary 299)

Not in the beauty of the color, nor of the brush, lies the greatness of this image, but in My grace. (Diary 313)

By means of this image I shall grant many graces to souls. It is to be a reminder of the demands of My mercy, because even the strongest faith is of no avail without works. (Diary 742)

Through the intercession of St. Faustina, may we come to know and receive our Lord's desire to love us through mercy through this image. Our Divine Mercy Vilnius Original Canvas makes a perfect addition to your living room or parish or is a perfect gift for a dear friend.

Nelson framed canvases are second only to the original masterpieces themselves! Solid wood, deluxe gold mouldings frame our breathtaking, board-mounted giclée religious canvases. Giclee is a french word that means "sprayed ink," and it refers to our museum-quality printing process whereby 8 different colored inks combine to create millions of colors that are slowly sprayed into canvas material. This high-tech method of art reproduction offers the highest possible fidelity to the original work and results in a clear depiction with colors as good (or sometimes better) than the original painting. Under archival conditions, giclée canvases have a total color fidelity guarantee for 70-100 years.

For the faithful Catholic that wishes their sacred art to be blessed with holy water: canvases are sparingly water repellent, so while a typical blessing should not damage the canvas whatsoever, those who favor more robust uses of holy water should take caution near the art. ;)

Divine Mercy Vilnius Original Gold Framed Canvas

Posted by Larry Zaborac on 16th Mar 2021

I recently ordered (2) 8x16 and (2) 12x24 canvas prints. They arrived well-packed and protected and in a timely manner. The quality of the canvas prints is excellent as is the gold wood frames. These are well-made and with good clarity and color. They will all end up in various churches in the Pacific Northwest and I expect to be ordering others in the future. Very nicely done.
